CURRENT FILMS
ST. JAMES THEATRE “Smithy,” based on the life of Sir Charles Kingsford Smith, will be screened finally to-night. It. is a film well worth seeing. To-morrow the new programme will be headed by Cecil B. de Mille’s production “The Sign of the Cross,” which features Fredric March, Elissa Landi, Claudette Colbert and Charles Laughton. Rome, the Eternal City, is the scene of the screen’s greatest spectacle of faith and love in the days when its glitter and glory were matched only by the revelries and bloody violence of the Madman Nero. The film should prove outstanding entertainment. A fine supporting programme will also be provided.
