The attendance was large and bidding was keen in many instances. The sale was conducted by Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd. Sales were .as follow: — Registered Mares —Free Bell, with Casanova foal at foot, at 61 guineas,, to S. A. On* (South Canterbury); Noblesse, with Casanova foal, at 60 guineas, to N. Milner (Chertsey); Dowager, with Casanova foal, at 85 guineas, to T. Darragh and E. J. Girdler (Makikihi). Three-year-old Casanova gelding, Caster, at 85 guineas, to S. T. Webster (Tinwald); piebald Casanova gelding at 39 guineas, to P. Clinton (Dar field); two-year-old Casanova gelding at 50 guineas, to S.
