SUBSIDIES ON FOOD AND CLOTHING
FARMERS CRITICISE METHOD (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Oct. 4., Strong objection to subsidies being taken from the Primary Industries Account to keep down the prices of food and clothing on the local market was voiced in a remit adopted by the conference of Federated Farmers to-day. The conference also opposed any suggestion of taking subsidies out of the Meat Pool Account. It was agreed that Federated Farmers 1 should foster cooperative enterprises and give active assistance to all co-operative concerns already set up. or projected with the ultimate object of securing producer control of primary products.
