METHODIST CIRCUIT

QUARTERLY MEETING * A decision to request conference that Methven and Rakaia be placed on the Ashburton Circuit plan was made by the Ashburton Circuit at its quarterly meeting on Wednesday evening. The Rev. W. T. Blight, supported by the Rev. W. A. Chambers and Messrs T. Wakelin and H. Frampton (circuit stewards), presided over a good attendance. s The membership was reported as 332, while the balance sheet showed a small debit: A donation of £1 to the National Council of Churches was made, and £2 was voted to the Trinity College. It-was agreed that a morning collection be taken up for the reconstruction of British Methodist Churches. The report on the Sunday School was presented by Mr J. Penman.
