NEW ZEALAND WOMEN'S TOURNAMENT SEMI-FINALS PLAYED (P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 6. The semi-finals of the New Zealand women’s hockey tournament were played to-day, when there was a good crowd of spectators. Auckland beat Canterbury A by 1 goal to 0, and Otago A beat Wellington A by 2 goals to 1. Otago A will play Auckland in the final match to-day. Canterbury A v. Auckland The first spell -was fairly even, but neither side played up to form. No goals were scored in the first spell, and Canterbury A rearranged its team after the interval. The change weakened the team, and Auckland played the better hockey to score one goal, when G. Jones pushed the ball into the net. Otago A v, Wellington A Otago A played the better hockey, and showed more satmina to beat Wellington A by 2 goals (scored by M. Eaton) to 1 (scored by H. Wilson). The game was fast and full of intei’est. The Otago players, kept on the ball better than the Wellington players, and thoroughly deserved their win.
