PUBLIC NOTICES. SOUTH CANTERBURY CATCHMENT BOARD. ASHBURTON-HINDS LAND DRAINAGE LOAN, NO. 2, 1946. 'VTOTICE 'rs HEREBY GIVEN of the proposal of the South Canterbury Catchment Board to raise, under the authority of the Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926, a SPECIAL LOAN to be termed “The Ashburton-Hinds Land Drainage Loan, No. 2, 1946. The purpose of the loan is to carry out a Land Drainage Scheme for the Ashburton-Hinds Drainage vArea. The sum to be borrowed is £42,000 at a rate of interest not exceeding £3/5/- per centum per annum. The currency of the loan is a period of 20 years, during which it will be repaid by Annual Instalments. Security for the loan is to be debentures, for the repayment of which a Special Rate of 2/3rds d. in £1 on lands designated Class A and 4/15ths d. in the £1 on lands Class I) on the capital value of the rateable property in the Ashburton-Hinds Special Rating District will be appropriated and pledged. The present intention is to raise the loan as follows: — , • 1946 .. £21,000 1947 . . £21,000 The said loan or any part thereof, together with interest thereon, shall be repaid by equal aggregate annual or half-yearly instalments extending over the period of 20 years. Preliminary expenses amounting to £750 shall be paid from the proceeds of the loan. A POLL of Ratepayers in the Special Rating District will be taken on SATURDAY, October 12th, 1946. A. L.
