Death of Hong Kong Conqueror —A Chinese military tribunal sentenced to death Lieutenant-General Takashi Sakai, the Japanese conqueror of Hong Kong, states a Nanking message. Sakai was convicted of mass atrocities in Hong Kong, conspiring to effect early Japanese encroachments in North China, the torture and massacre of wounded war prisoners and looting and plundering civilians.
