SHAW ACCEPTS HONOUR
FREEMAN OF CITY OF DUBLIN (Rec. 11.5 a.m.) LONDON, Aug. 28. “I have been offered titles, but they get one into disreputable company. However, I really do value this,” said Bernard Shaw, signing the roll of Freemen of the City of Dublin, which for the first time, was brought to England from. Dublin in order that be could place his name on it. Shaw added: x “The danger of bestowing titles and honours is that you can never be sure that the recipient will not end up by being hanged, but when the object to think, ‘he cannot disgrace us after all.’ ”
