FURTHER SHARP DECLINE
NEW YORK STOCK EXCHANGE (Rec. 1 p.m.) NEW YORK, Aug. 27. Stocks on ’change to-day declined sharply in one of the heaviest selling bursts of the year, witli leading shares one. 'to eight points below' previous closing levels. Heavy selling developed after noon as averages plunged to • the lowest levels since February’s break. The recession was general, all sections sharing in ihe decline. Some rails lost eight- points. Bethlehem. Steel and Chrysler were also hard hit, the former losing nearly four and the latter almost six points. ■
