NATIONAL SAVINGS
MEANS OF PREVENTING INFLATION With the object of reviving interest and increasing the number of accounts in national savings in Ashburton, a member of the Post Office staff is being released to conduct campaign work during the next few weeks. A member of the committee said today that the question of peacetime adjustment for the civilian was a big one. From developments after World War I, it was evident that inflation was a menace. A sure method of minimising inflationary tendencies and preventing the disastrous- effects of inflation was to save money at every opportunity. As post-war production Increased, these savings would ensure the sale of goods and the maintenance of employment. National savings provided an ideal means of regular saving for both young and old.
