HIRAJI DEAD-HEATS
FIRST AUSTRALIAN RACE SYDNEY, August 25. The performance of the NeAv Zea-land-bred horse Hiraji, in dead-heating Avith Prince Standard in the Three-Year-Old Quality Handicap at Rosehili yesterday, has gained much space in Sydney sporting papers. His win Avas most meritorious, considering the strength of the field and the fact that it Avas Hiraji’s first race in Australia. He Avas capably .ridden by the apprentice, T. J. Mullane, who is regarded as a. coming jockey. Hiraji stayed on the rails behind the leaders all the way, and came through in the straight and looked a certain winner until Prince Standard made a flying run. There Avas some discussion as to the result, but both jockeys expressed satisfaction at the judge’s placiugs.
