WARM TRIBUTES
FAREWELL TO MISS E. PILBROW Warm tributes Avere paid to Miss Enid Pilbrow, Assistant Commandant of the Ashburton No. 1 Red Cross Voluntary Aid Detachment, at a farewell party held yesterday at the home of Mrs F. Curtis (Centre Commandant). Miss Pilbrow has been appointed as-sistant-secretary at Dominion headquarters of the Red Cross in Wellington, and leaves next Aveek to take over her new duties. On behalf of members of the district V.A.D., Mrs Curtis presented Miss Pilbrow with a travelling rug, and later presented her Avith the society’s special merit medallion Avith tAvo bars. Mrs Curtis congratulated Miss PilbroAV Avarmly on attaining this coveted award and thanked her, on behalf of the society, for the splendid work she had performed both in and out of hospital during the Avar years. A bouquet was presented to Miss Pilbrow by Miss Christabel Smith.
