SALE OF SOME ARTICLES FORBIDDEN

PROHIBITION LIFTED ON ISSUE OF ORDERS (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Aug. 22. The Prohibition of Sale (Control of Prices) Notice, 1946, No. 1, gazetted to-night, prohibits the sale of corsetry, girls’ school hats, aprons, radios, electric washing machines, electric vacuum cleaners, refrigerators, radiators, jugs, kettles, irons (both hand and power), toasters, water heating elements and thermostats and covers, water-heating systems and immersion heaters, farm tractors, commercial tractors, motor-cars, motor-trucks, bulldozer blades and power-shovels, farm implements and machinery, and spare parts, accessories or components of any of these goods. This prohibition shall be deemed to be withdrawn when a price order issued by the Tribunal comes into foi'ce with respect to the goods, or when the tribunal approves or authorises a special selling price or a maximum selling price for the goods. The Declared Goods (Control of Prices) Notice, 1946, No. 1, was also gazetted to-night. It refers to 12 classes of goods, including clothing, sporting requisites, and other items of which the prices are to be controlled.
