Record Weight Carried By Aircraft. —The Douglas Airchaft Company announced that a C 74, named Globemaster, took off from Long Beach, California, with a gross load of 172,0001 b, which is reported to be the greatest weight ever t.o leave the earth under the power of an aircraft.
