DISPOSAL OF ITALIAN FLEET
LOTS TO BE DRAWN (Rec. 9.30 a.m.) LONDON, Aug. 1. Britain, America and Russia will draw lots for the remaining ships of the Italian fleet after the allocations ot other Powers which declared war against Italy, says Reuter’s Paris correspondent. A committee of experts of the Council of Foreign Ministers has already agreed on the vessels Avhich are to be banded over to Greece, France and Albania. >
The Italian Cabinet, after a five hours’ examination of the draft peace treaty issued a communique protesting against it. Besides “grievous ter* ritorial losses” and “condemnation to defensive impotence” Italy is subjected to economic clauses about which her opinion Avas never asked. It added that the Italian delegation to the Peace Conference had been instructed to do their utmost to obtain terms “enabling Italy to participate in international reconstruction.”
