SMALLPOX OUTREAK
AREAS OF JAPAN (Rec. 12.30 p.m.) TOKIO, Mar. 27. The Kyodo News Agency reported over 20,000 cases of eruptive typhus, and smallpox in Japan, chiefly in Tokio, Osaka, Kobe and Kyoto. The Hong Kong correspondent of the Associated Press reports that the cruiser Los Angeles has been quarantined there with two smallpox cases aboard.
