No one can say that the situation is on a very sound basis.” He added that China had not received any Soviet assurance that equipment removed from Manchuria would be paid for. He declined to say whether China had protested against- the removal of the equipment. The Chinese Minister of Information, K. C. Wo, stated that Russia had agreed to release Henry Pu Yi, former Japanese puppet Governor of Manchuria. Asked whether Pu Yi will be tried as a war criminal, Wu laughed and said: “We have plans for him.”
