The personal report system as a basis for promotion in the public service Avas receiving a great, deal of attention from the Public Service Association, saidi t"he general secretary, Mr J. Turnbull, yesterday. The necessity of assessing and recording relative merits, so that the most suitable would receive promotion Avas recognised, and the issue . Avas lioav could this best be done, said Mr Turnbull. The Association Avas studying the reports systems used abroad to ascertain what improvement could be made to the form itself, and to the system of marking the committee was studying all factors and would make recommendations to the next annual conference.
