POPULAR RESORT
HAKATERE OVER HOLIDAYS Ilakatere has proved a popular resort with campers and holiday-makers this season. All the huts are occupied, and several families are camped under canvas on the County Council’s reserve. There are at present four families front Greymouth and one from Christchurch among the visitors. Numerous inquiries for accommodation have been received by the committee, hut the supply of huts has not been sufficient to meet the demand. The asphalt tennis courts are well patronised, particularly by the young people.
There are some good swimming pools in the lagoon, hut the atmosphere has been too cold for this sport. Sunday School yesterday afternoon and a church service last evening conducted by a Salvation Army officer were well attended.
