ASHBURTON MARKET Prices at the fruit and produce market at Ashburton to-day were: Chaff—6s a sack. Wheat—£l to £1 3s 6d sack. Potatoes—2d lb, 6s sugar-bag, 19s New Potatoes—. Smaller grade 2d lb, first'grade fid lb. Cauliflowers-—6d to Is 6d. Spring Cabbages—3d lb. Lettuce—2d to 4d each. Green Peas—9d lb. Broad Beans—6d lb. Onions —5d lb. Spring Onions—3d bunch. Spinach—4d bunch. Whitestone Turnips—4d bunch. Spring Beetroot—4d to 6d bunch. Radishes—3d bunch. Tomatoes—ls 6d to 2s fid. Rhubarb —Is bundle. Cherries—ls 6d to 2s lb. Strawberries—2s 6d to 3s punnet.

CHRISTMAS MARKET There was a good entry of pigs and poultry in the Christmas market held in the Farmers’ Co-op. Ltd. auction mart .yesterday. Prices were: Weaners 21s to 25s 6d, stores 35s to 445, geese 13s to 14s 6d poultry 3s each.

PRICES AT CLEARING SALE

On account of Mr T. E. Kneale, Dalgety and Company, Ltd., held a satisfactory clearing sale at Methven, when the following prices were realised: 165 ewes and lambs at 8s 3d, 138 at 19s 3d, 171 at 19s, 104 at 22s 9d, 291 at 23s 6d; Southdown rams at 2Jgns; empty cows at £5 fis, 18-months heifer at £B, heifer calf at £B, heifer calf at £3; three-furrow plough at £7O, McCormick-Deering tractor, W,30 (steel wheels) £240, I.Bft' binder £63, roller £2O, three-leaf narrows and box £lO.
