The United Nations must, hare a gional office in Europe, said Mi • ,T Noel-Baker, Britain’s chief delegation to the Preparatory Commission, at a dinner given by the chairman oi the Commission, Dr. Zuleta. Mr Noel-Baker added that, Britain s efforts to have headquarters in Europe were unsuccessful, but she was res ° ’ ed to do her utmost to make the United Nations Organisation a success in its trans-Atlantic home. He maintained, however, that a Central European office must, be established to bring practical day-to-day cooperation to the Continent,. It was vital for Europe and its immediate reconstruction, and for the United Nations Organisation’s long-term projects, that this centre be established soon.
