LAND SETTLEMENT
RETURNED MEN CONCERNED AT DELAY (P.A.) HASTINGS, December 17. Concern at the delay in settling servicemen on the land was expressed in a resolution carried unanimously at a meeting of returned servicemen interested in farming which was convened by the Hastings R.S.A. Satisfaction was expressed with the grading system, but a resolution was passed seeking changes in the Rehabilitation Act to provide for balloting immediately subdivisions had been defined, an immediate title to properties and ultimately the freehold title and reasonable expenses for inspections of properties by prospective ballotees. Another resolution strongly opposed any form of compulsory communal farming.
