ALLIED OFFICERS DEALT WITH (Rec. 10.15 a.m.) BERLIN, Dec. 14. Catpain John Birnie .Allan, a padre and welfare officer at the British Control Commission’s headquarters at Bunde, was sentenced to dismissal from the service for conduct . prejudicial to good order and discipline by seizing and taking away 3900 bottles of liquor from a German store. Lieutenant William Tyrell, catering advisor on the Commission’s Headquarters) Staff, was sentenced to be cashiered for a civil offence of stealing gin and spirits. Three other staff officers were severely reprimanded on a charge of ’seizing and taking spirits away. These were the findings of a general court-martial which heard the case and which were promulgated today after confirmation by FieldMarshal Sir Bernard Montgomery.
