WOMEN’S INSTITUTE.

FAIRTON MEETING Miss Oram presided at the December meeting of the Fairton W.I. Miss R. Chappell was the pianist. Mrs G Nell read the inspirations. Members’ decided to hold their annual picnic at Timaru on January 17, and all arrangements were made accordingly. . After the business portion ol tne meeting a social half hour was spent. Competitions were won by Mrs Jordon, Miss Hannan and Mrs J. 'Dennison. Musical items, which were mucft appreciated, v ere contributed by Mesdames Jordon, McKeague and Miss K. Hannan. Community singing was also enjoyed. Mrs J. For( i m oved a vote of thanks to the visiting performers and also to Miss R. Chappell. Competitions judged by Mesdam.es J. Morton and J.. Ford, resulted.
