HOME AIDS
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The home aid service will commence in Wellington and Auckland on December 11, said the Minister of National Service, the Hon. A. MeLagan to-day. There would be about 15 aids available in Wellington and 10 in Auckland to commence the service. it is also expected that the service will start in Christchurch and Dunedin early in the New Year, with the secondary centres following when sufficient aids come available. Tlie Minister said that aids would be allocated with regard to the relative urgency of the various applications. The new service was unique throughout the world, it at last provides social service to the community for which there had always been an insistent yet unsatisfied demand. He was confident New Zealand’s lead in this direction would soon be followed by other countries.
