SMALL GERMAN TOWN. (Rec. 9.30 a.m.) LONDON. August 23. A correspondent of " The Times ” says an outstanding example of the Germans helping themselves back from ruin and idleness to usefulness is the small town of Buxthehud, which in 14 weeks has completely restored its railroad system, thus becoming a main link on the route from Cuxhaven to Hanover .and Brunswick. It has also restarted all its mills and food factories. Engineering works which were formerly producing arms are now manufacturing agricultural implements. The population lias risen from 7000 to 16,000, but there is no unemployment.
