In Beyrout in 1941 there was an American film showing called “Hearts in Bondage.” For some reason the cinema proprietor didn’t have readyprinted American posters, so a Lebanese sign-writer got busy. For a week in letters a foot and a half high, people were invited to come and see a film called “Hearts in Bandage.”
