PERSONAL.
Mrs L. Porter is representing the Ashburton Basketball Association at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Basketball Association, at Christchurch. Mr C. Clark, chief postmaster at Auckland since 1941, is to retire at the end of September. He will be succeeded by the present deputy-chief postmaster, Mr O. W. Parker. Sergeant H. C. Moase, M.M., has been Mentioned in Dispatches, according to advice received by his father, Kvho lives in Auckland. Sergeant Moase enlisted at Ashburton, having been for some time before the outbreak of hostilities employed on the jfarm of Mr R. A. Bcbbington, of Winchmore. The retirement of Mr K. M. Graham, Commissioner of Crown Lands at Auckland, will take effect at the eud of this month. He will be succceeded by Mr L. J. Poff. Commissioner of Crown Lands for North Auckland. Mr Basil King, of Nelson, will go to the North Auckland land office, and will be succeeded at Nelson by Mr E. P. Walcelin, the present secretary to the Minister of Lands. . Officers were elected as follow at the annual meeting of the Canterbury Sliecpownevs’ Union in Christchurch yesterday: —'President, Mr L. C. Gardiner; vice-president, Mr R. Bothell; honorary treasurer, Mr G. H. Grigg; committee, Messrs H. J. D. Acland, M.P., W. Hanmer Atkinson, F. H. Courage, D. Deans, J. F. CracroftWilson, G. E. Gray, H. D. Greenwood, J. H. Grigg, H.
