FIFTY YEARS SYNE. (From«the “Guardian,” Aug. 22, 1895). The Ashburton Rifles.—The Ashburton Rifles held a daylight. parade on Thursday afternoon at which 55 of all ranks answered the roll call. Lieutenant Colonel Bailey was the inspecting officer and Major Douglas was also present. . The Colonel was highly pleased with the parade, both as regards members and appearance.
