IMPORTANCE OF EXPORT TftADE. (llec. 11.15 a.m.) LONDON, June 11. The secretary of Ihe Deparlment oi Overseas Trade (Mr Summers), addressing mantle* and costume manufacturers, emphasises the importance of the export trade in women’s wear as means of utilising the stocks of wool built, up in the Dominions during the war. He said that freedom of movement would be restored to manufacturers long before Germany and Japan were able to resume competition. The chairman representing the manufacturers said that the trade hoped to quadruple its pre-wav exports.
