RED CROSS SOCIETY.
LAURISTON SUB.BRANCH. There was a large attendance of members at the. monthly meeting o the Lanriston sub-branch of the Red Cross Society. The president (Mrs .J. A. Mackie) presided. . The secretary (Miss L. Maidens) read a full report of the fifth annual meeting of the Red Cross Centre at Ashburton. It, was decided to hold a euchre and dance evening in June in aid of Red Cross funds. Lieutenant Edna Lemon gave an interesting talk on her work and experiences whilst on active service in the. Middle East theatre of war. On the motion of Mrs .1. Hall, Lieutenant Lemon was accorded a vote of appreciation. Work handed in for the month comprised a sleeveless pullover and a pullover with sleeves.
