MISSION OVER.
MR DAVIES RETURNING. (Rec. 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, May 31. Mr Joseph Davis, President Truman’s special envoy to the British Government, left London early today for Paris on his way back to Washington, having had .a final conversation with Mr Churchill on Wednesday evening. The stay of Mr Davies in London was not as long as expected, and this is taken as an indication of the quick measure of agreement which has been reached on all the points discussed. Mr Davies goes back with the knowledge that Mr Churchill is as anxious as the President for an early meeting of the Big Three, and knowing also that the forthcoming British elections are no obstacle .to a quick meeting.
