VICTORY LOAN.
SMALL INVESTMENTS YESTERDAY. With investments of only £2GI4 15s Gd, another poor day in the Victory Loan was experienced at Ashburton yesterday. The total in hand, £127,327 is Gd, represents 44.7 per cent, of the target. The average sum required for each of the remaining 15 days of the loan is £10,523. Commencing from to-morrow, members of women’s organisations in Ashburton will take part in a concentra ted effort for the sale of bonds, oner ating from a depot in East Street. They will canvass in the town area/on Tuesdays and Fridays until the lean closes on June IG. Announcements will be made from a loud speaker fitted to a car, which will tour the streets at intervals, aud from a speaker at the depot. DOMINION TOTAL. (P.A.) WELLINGTON. May 30. The Reserve Bank announced tonight that the total of the 1945 Victory Loan is now £14,770,057. The cash subscriptions during the day amounted to £305,358, including £27,373 of redeemed promises. Tho sum of £10,224,000 is required to fill the loan before the closing date, June 10.
