WOMEN'S HOCKEY.
SEASON OPENED AT ASHBURTON. Players from the Tekau, Ashburton and Technical Old Girls’ clubs took part in friendly games when the Ashburton Women’s Hockey ‘Association opened its season on Saturday. No arrangements about a competition have been made because the Association is still awaiting information concerning the availability of petrol for travelling teams. It is hoped that the annual meeting, which has been delayed on account of the illness of the secretary (Mr W. C. Bishop) will be held this week.
