PEACE-TIME CO-OPERATION. (Rec. 12.30 p.m.) LONDON, May 27. Important conversations designed to strengthen and perpetuate all-round peacetime co-operation between America, Britain and Russia, started at Chequers yesterday between Mr Churchill and Mr Joseph Davies, says the political correspondent of the “Daily Mail.” Mr Davies handed to Mr Churchill a personal letter from President Truman. in which the President outlined his determination to carry out Mr Roosevelt’s policies in all respects. He expressed a wish to visit London at the earliest opportunity The correspondent adds that in view of the fact that the next meeting of the Big Three may take place before the British General Election, Mr Churchill may invite Mr Attlee to accompany him, thus ensuring continuity of British policy, whatever the outcome of the poll.
