A minute of appreciation of the work of the Rev. A. D. Kirkland, who has completed his term of office at Wakanui and is retiring to Ashburton, Avas recorded, at the bi-monthly meeting of the Ashburton Presbytery. It stated that Mr Kirkland came to the Presbytery four years ago and as a retired minister brought with him much mature Christian experience. This, however, had not prevented him from sharing the youthful outlook of others, as was proved by the successful activities of the Sunday School and Bible Class. The people of Wakanui spoke highly of his work, which had often been carried on in spite of illhealth.
