GUNNER C. E. FECHNEY.

Gunner Charles Edward Fechney, of Tinwald, who died of wounds in Italy on June 5, was born in Ashburton 34 years ago, being a son of Mr David Fecliney, now of North Canterbuij, He received his secondary education at the Ashburton High School, and later, when living at Methven, was culling deer for the Government for several seasons. He married Miss L. Watson, of Methven, about four years ago, and since then was employed at the Fanfield Freezing Works. He left Ashburton with the 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force ill July last veai. He was a. keen footballer. Gunner Fecliney is survived by his wife and two children, Ahan and Helen. ’
