IMMEDIATE AWARDS ANNOUNCED SERVICES IN ITALY. (P.A.) WELLINGTON, March 23. Immediate awards tp 49 members of the 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force for gallant and distinguished service in Italy have been approved by the King, according to advice received from the War Office. Three officers are admitted to the Distinguished Service Order, one gains the bar to the Military Cross and 11 won the Military Cross. The Distinguished Conduct Medal is awarded to two men and the Military Medal goes to 32. The Canterbury recipients are:

Distinguished Conduct Medal. Sergeant Robert John Wilson. Mother, Mrs M. Wilson, Timaru.

Military Medal. Signalman Leslie Arthur Lyon. Aunt, Mrs E. Simmonds, Timaru.
