TROOPS WANT FARMS.
2000 IN NEW SOUTH WALES. SYDNEY, Jan. 9. Of about 40,000 men already discharged from the Australian forces in this war more than 2000 had sought qualification certificates to enable them to settle on the land in New South Wales, the Minister of Lands, Mr Tully, stated at the annual conference of the New South Wales Staff Surveyors’ Association. Mr Tully said that he intended strongly to press for the repatriation of soldiers on the land to be carried out by the State Government, the Commonwealth Government providing the funds.
