COUNTY RAISES QUOTA. SOME RIDINGS OVER-SUBSCRIBED

The Comity has over-subscribed its patriotic quota for 1943 by £27, the amount in hand being £11,545. Of the seven ridings, Mount Hutt, and Mount Somers, with deficiencies of 30 per cent and 4 per cent, respectively, were the only tAvo Avhich failed to raise their portions of the quota. The shortage in Mount Somers is from the May-field-Anama area, the Mount Somers locality having over-subscribed by £45, although having a larger allocation than last year. Ashburton did very Avell, over-sub-scribing its allocation by 35 per cent., Avhile Rangitata and South Ralcaia both over-subscribed by 15 per cent. Positions in the various, ridings ai’e:
