NO CHANGE
THREE DAYS ON ITALIAN FRONT. VERY BAD WEATHER PREVAILS. CLASHES BETWEEN PATROLS. (N.Z. Press Association-Copyright.) (Rec. 9.30 a .in.) LONDON, Nov. 17. Allied'Headquarters -in North Africa states: “The very bad weather continues to restrict ground operations of both the sth and Bth Armies. Patrol clashes took place. Some enemy prisoners were captured.” Correspondents report no change in the front for three days in succession. Everything contributed to make the life of the soldier miserable. High winds were blowing and heavy rain made the mud even thicker. Bad weather extended all along the line which at times was completely silent, with only occasional gun flashes and thunder. An enemy patrol which ventured across the river Garigliano near the coast was badly shot up and prisoners were taken. North of Venafro our troops recovered, some of the ground lost during the enemy counter-attacks at Monte Croce.
The Bth Army has slightly improved its positions north of Atessa. Patrols clashed at Tornareccio-, a mile from the river Sangro, and 15 miles north of its source. —British Official Wireless.
