SHIPS SUNK BY SUBMARINES. AMERICA REPORTS 346 TOTAL. (Rec. 12.50) WASHINGTON, Nov. 15. The naval records shoiv that additional victories by submarines announced yesterday bring the tally of Japanese ships, sunk to 346, with 36 probably sunk and 114 damaged. The Associated Press, giving these figures, says that special importance is attached to the sinkings of freighter and cargo vessels because they have already severely strained the Japanese, transport system.
