FIREMAN KILLED.

(P.A.) AUCKLAND, November 15. In the execution of his duty at a city fire this morning, Eric Bright, single, aged 28, of Sandringham, a member of the Auckland Central Fire Brigade, lost his life. He was a veteran of the campaign in Greece, Crete, and Libya, Bright joined the fire brigade in 1937. He went overseas wit).!,, the 4th Reinforcements. Mr W. L. Wilson, superintendent of the Auckland Fire Brigade, said today that Bright was the third member of the brigade to lose his life in 40 years. He was one of the best men on the staff, a first-class fireman and most popular with officers and men.
