DEATH OF BABY.
MOTHER ACQUITTED OF MURDER (P.A.) PALMERSTON N., Oct. 19. Emily Ivy Elston, married, aged 27, mother of five children, who stood her trial to-day on a charge of murdering her newly-born baby, was acquitted. Mr Justice Blair telling the jury, “I think I might add that. I agree with your verdict.” The evidence disclosed that accused who is living apart from her husband, was alone when the baby was born. She wrapped it in a sheet and placed it in a suitcase.
. The medical evidence showed that the >' child had breathed. It died of asphyxia, hut it was possible it was dead before it was put in the suitcase.
