EVACUATION OF ROME.
SIGNIFICANT POINTERS (Rec. 1.25 p.m.) LONDON, Oct. 19. Amplifying the assertion that the German evacuation of Rome was only a matter of days the “Svenska Dagbladett’s” correspondent on the Italian frontier states that the Germans cancelled all orders for w r ar supplies deliverable in the Rome region after the end of the month. The skeleton military forces left, in Rome are completing the arrests of Italians thought likely to co-operate with the Allies. The newspaper “Social Demokraten” states that ai new influx of troops and tanks in northern Italy for the eventual battle lias brought the total strength to 30 divisions. Many of the new troops come from France and were intended originally for the Russian front.
