Mr Parry said the revocation of all membership of the National Patriotic Council followed his recommendation of the last national patriotic conference. He wished to pay a tribute to the great work done by the council during the four years of its existence. It was not too much to say that the whole system of working of the national patriotic organisation, consisting of the National Patriotic Fund Board and the 11 provincial councils, was very largely due to the splendid work done in the beginning by the National Patriotic Council.
Mr Parry added that the council still existed formally under the regulations, but without membership, and it could he reconstituted at any time should the need arise.
