A study of photographs after the raid on the ball- and roller-bearing plant at Schweinfurt (Bavaria) revealed even more extensive damage than was at first estimated, said Briga-dier-General Anderson, commanding the Bth United States Army Air Force. The entire works are now inactive, but the Germans may eventually restore 25 per cent, of the productive capacity.

A message from Berne reports that as a result of the destruction of the Schweinefurt ball-bearing works the Germans have placed large orders with the big Schmidtrost ball-bearing firm at Zurich.
