FATAL ACCIDENTS.
MINER HIT BY STONE.
GREYMOUTH, October 17
Mr Joseph Henry RoAvse, aged 40, married, a miner, residing at Runanga, died at Grey Hospital yesterday as a result of injuries received Avhen he Avas struck on the head by stone while Avorking in the Liverpool mine on Friday morning. His skull Avas fractured.
DEERSTALKER SHOT. REEFTON, October 17. Mr Bernard M. Alborn, aged 32, married, a coal miner, of Reefton, who, Avith a companion, Avas deerstalking at Rainey Creek (nine miles from Reefton) Avas fatally shot by a member of another party shortly before dusk yesterday. The accident occurred through neither party knowing that the other Avas stalking in the same locality. Mr Alborn is survived by his wife, tAvo young children, his father (Mr V. Alborn, of Christchurch), tAvo brothers, and tAvo sisters.
