Mr C. A. Hendry, formerly of Ashburton, has been appointed district Public Trustee at Nelson. Temporary-Major J. R. Wells, New Zealand Medical Corps, has been gazetted temporary lieutenant-colonel in the Territorial Forces. Captain .T. P. Gresson, of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force in ,the Pacific, has been promoted temporary major, says a Gazette notice. Lieutenant A. I. Garviock (Canterbury Regiment) is posted to the retired list with the rank of captain, according to a notice in the Gazette. Temporary Lieutenant C. C. Winn is promoted to temporary captain in the Home Guard, says the current Gazette. Temporary Captain A. C, Gadd has resigned his commission. Messrs A. A. McDonald (Borough Council), C. A. Campion (County Chairman) and W. Bryant (Tinwald Town Board), will represent their respective organisations at the conference on post-war reconstruction to he held at Christchurch by the Canterbury Progress League on Wednesday.
