LEND LEASE GOODS.
EXPORTS FROM UNITED STATES. INCREASE IN THE PERCENTAGE.(Rec. 10.20 a.m.) LONDON, Oct. 10. The American authorities announced that exports of food to the Allies under lend-lease in the first eight months of 1943 amounted to alfout 9 per cent, of the total food supply of America, compared with exports in 1942, which were about G per cent. . Although only 1 per cent, of beef and veal had been exported a relatively greater amount of lamb, mutton and pork had been shipped. Exports of Jamb and mutton were about 12 per cent, of the total, and of pork about 15 per cent. The proportion of milk products sent abroad under iend-lease had been under 3 per cent. Last year it was 3.4 per cent. Exports of butter had been 1 per cent. The shipment of cheese amounted to 11 per cent, of the total, compared with 23 per cent, in 1942. Of canned fruits and vegetables lendlease shipped about 1 per cent. Dried fruits amounted to about 21 per cent, of the supply, and dried beans and peas to about 11 per cent. —British Official Wireless.
